Saturated Polyester Resins

 

Saturated Polyester Resins are oil free non-oxidizing alkyd resins. These resins are intended to be crosslinked with amino resins through their free hydroxyl functionality. Crosslinking can be done with reactive urethane resins as well as with melamines and urea resins. Depending upon how they are formulated, curing can be done at room temperature or at very high temperatures for high speed lines. When properly formulated, these resins can give very high quality industrial finishes.

 

Properties:

  • Excellent combination of flexibility, hardness and adhesion to many substrates
  • Good to excellent solvent and stain resistance
  • Low color development during high temperature bake cycles
  • Low yellowing tendancy
  • Good exterior durability
