Water Reducible    

Water Reducible Resins are normally high acidity medium to short oil alkyd resins supplied in water soluble coupling solvents. These resins require neutralization of the built in acid groups and additional cosolvent before water can be added. These resins are versatile components for formulating industrial finishes. The performance of these resins can meet or exceed those of the solventborne finishes and at lower VOC levels.

Properties:

  • Good combination of hardness & flexibility
  • Most alkyds can be air dried/force dried or crosslinked with melamine
  • Good to excellent corrosion resistance
  • Low VOC
  • Good adhesion to steel & non-ferrous metals
  • Good gloss retention
  • Fast rate of air dry especially the chain stopped resins.
